FAQs

"What is a full-spectrum doula?"

Great question! A full spectrum doula provides support to birthing people (as well as their family and/or partner/s) throughout the full spectrum of pregnancy and other reproductive experiences. This approach recognizes and holds space for transitional experiences spanning conception to abortion, misscarriage to adoption and beyond. As your doula I will offer witness, resources, advocacy, information, and companionship.

“Are doula's only for non-surgical or unmedicated "natural" births?”

Absolutely not! Every birth is unique; every birth deserves support. My role as a doula is to provide you with evidence-based information as well as physical and emotional support. I will also support and empower your birthing choices and decision making process. My care spans from home birth to cesarean and all the other unknowns or unplanned births.

"Do I need a doula if I have a supportive partner/s?"

A doula's job is not to replace your partner/s. My support extends to your entire family. The support of a doula can help your partner/s better prepare to travel this transitional journey alongside you in an empowered and knowledgeable way. There are also practical support offerings a doula can provide for partners; the option for respite and nourishment.

"Are you a pro-hug person?"

YES!!! I love to give and receive hugs! (with permission of course!)
